Our farms share our vision of healthy families, sustainable agriculture, and environmental stewardship.

Fat Toad Farm, Goat Cheeses, Goat Milk Caramel, Brookfield, VT
Fat Toad Farm is a small family-run goat dairy located in the hills of Central Vermont. It is run by Steve Reid, Judith Irving, and Calley and Josey Hastings. Their goal is to work closely with their land and animals in order to produce healthy local food for their customers. Their family has spent the last several years building a high quality Alpine and Saanen goat herd. In the spring of 2007, they took a major leap and became a certified goat dairy producing fresh goat cheese and goat milk caramel.  They also raise the majority of the food they eat - from dried corn for cornmeal to raspberries for jam.  Their forty does are rotationally grazed during the pasture months and are fed grain and high quality hay to supplement their diet. The does are bred in the fall by their two beautiful bucks, Evan and Rico and after a five month gestation period, they kid in March.  Fat Toad Farm takes great pride in the quality of their milk and always uses the freshest milk to make their products.

Maple Wind Farm, 100% Grassfed and Finished Beef, Huntington, VT
Established in 1998 by Bruce Hennessey and Beth Whiting, Maple Wind Farm reflects their deeply held belief in ecologically sustainable farming.  Beth and Bruce both hold Master’s degrees in education, backgrounds that serve their interest in educating the public about the benefits of pasture-based farming for both the farmer and the consumer.  Bruce spent eleven years teaching science and mathematics to all age groups (k-12) in the classroom.  He most recently directed the North Country Camps, a summer residential camp focused on wilderness trips with farming (including horses, goats, llamas and pigs!), offered as part of an extensive in-camp program, for eight years.  Beth is an artist, master gardener, and organizer, who also spent many years directing wilderness trips through both Wilderness Ventures and the North Country Camps. Beth is an experienced entrepreneur, with successful business forays into community mapping, hand-painted clothing and adventure travel. She currently is the CSA vegetable manager, bookkeeper, and marketing manager for the farm.  Beth and Bruce enjoy the farming lifestyle, sharing it with their son David and his younger sister Bryn.

Valley Dream Farm, Certified Organic Vegetables, Cambridge, VT
Valley Dream Farm is a 300-acre certified organic preserved farm in Cambridge, Vermont.  This farmland will forever remain active in agriculture through a preservation program with the American Farmland Trust. Their interest in organic farming started when Valley Dream was offered several tons of chemicals to eradicate some serious weeds.  They knew the soils and water table would eventually meet with these harsh chemicals, so they declined the offer and have continued managing a 100% organic operation ever since.  They practice crop rotations, soil fertility, use of beneficial insects and other sustainable methods to be responsible stewards of the land and to provide long term environmental goals for future generations.  Valley Dream believes a farm must be able to sustain the farmers to survive. Their focus is on the farm and CSA. Their own CSA has grown from 20 members in 2005, to 200 members in 2008.  The Tisberts believe in honest hard work and they strive to be the best stewards of the land on which they grow their crops.  Their farming also aims to build a better community. Valley Dream has been recognized and awarded for their produce donations.  They have now donated over 50,000 lbs of produce to local food shelves, the Vermont Food Bank, and others in need. Their produce is known for its outstanding flavors and quality.  Their products can be found at their retail farm stand, CSA, natural grocery stores, Whole Foods and other natural grocery chains marketed by Deep Root Organic Truck Farmers Inc.
